The Gens ace 11.4V is a new generation high voltage (HV) LiPo battery that brings more revs and response time to electric airsoft guns. Instead of the usual 11.1 volts, this battery is charged up to 4.35V per cell (total voltage 13.05V), which means even sharper trigger sensitivity and better performance - without any modifications to the gun.
The lightweight and compact battery is an excellent choice for tight battery spaces, such as submachine gun-class weapons and other players who value lightweight equipment without compromising on performance. The 50C discharge current ensures consistent power even during rapid fire.
What are LiPo batteries?
Lithium-ion polymer (LiPo) batteries are the most efficient lithium-ion battery packs. The biggest advantage of LiPo batteries is their high power to battery size ratio. For this reason, even a small LiPo battery can deliver high currents and they solve the problems of insufficient power in weapons with small battery compartments in one fell swoop. LiPo batteries also have no memory effect and can therefore be charged over and over again without the need to completely discharge the battery pack. Frequent charging intervals are beneficial for LiPo batteries.
When using LiPo batteries, it is important to remember that the cells should not be allowed to discharge below 3 volts per cell. If the voltage of a LiPo battery drops below 3V per cell, irreversible chemical reactions occur inside the battery, which weaken the battery's properties and, in extreme cases, completely destroy the battery. During storage, a LiPo battery loses approximately 3-5% of its power per month. For this reason, during long-term storage, LiPo batteries must be charged periodically to maintain the battery's properties. The storage charge of a new, unused LiPo battery is approximately 70% of the battery's total capacity.
In addition, the cell must not be charged above 4.2 volts. Overcharging is protected by LiPo chargers designed for LiPo batteries, which are able to cut off the current at the right point. Overcharging will cause the LiPo battery to catch fire! For this reason, always use chargers designed for LiPo batteries!
In use, the average lifespan of a LiPo battery is 500-700 recharges. LiPo batteries withstand cold temperatures much better than traditional batteries, which is why they enable winter play with electric guns in a completely new way. Although the batteries work in the cold, they should always be charged at room temperature.
